That Aha Moment

Last week we had the opportunity to check out a really amazing place in Lancaster, Ohio called the Aha Museum with a good friend and her little one.

This place was any child's dream.  They had so many sensory and imaginary play stations that it was easy to get overwhelmed.  The clear winner with all three of our kiddos was the water table.

The "sand" for their messy truck table was pretty much amazing (and definitely a close favorite).  Sometimes it felt soft and fluffy but you were still able to mold it into your hard to form a ball or into a bucket to make a "sand" castle.

The best recipe I found for this Cloud Dough was from TinkerLab.com. It's basically 8 cups of flour and 1 cup of oil mixed together to form hours of sensory play.

Some of the other activities included a vet hospital, grocery store, dress up area with stage and microphone, potting bench, train tables, face painting, building a brick house, & the neat little ball runner that's pictured in the bottom left.

My personal favorite activity was the honeycombs.  It was the only spot where the kiddos were permitted to climb, but hardly any kids were ever touching it!  I just thought they looked neat (but  I do sorta have a thing for hexagons...)

Overall, this place was a hit!  If you happen to be in the area, I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself.  It's a good way to get your kids to sleep the entire way home plus a couple hours longer once you get there!

Have you done any exploring this summer in your city or neighboring cities?  It's amazing what you can find!  How about Cloud Dough?  Will you give it a try?
